Most fashion designers in the corporate world use Adobe Illustrator for fashion design every day. They use it to

  • flat sketch

  • create fashion CADs

  • create tech packs

  • create fashion line sheets

Adobe Illustrator is a regular part of their day-to-day use.

As an independent or small fashion design house, Illustrator is still an important tool for

  • drawing a fashion design flat sketch or fashion technical drawing

  • creating a fashion tech pack

  • creating fashion CADs

It can also serve as a great tool to create marketing materials such as social media posts, flyers, look books and more.

There is so much creativity in digital design, but most importantly, digital design saves you time and money. By creating accurate and detailed flat sketches, you ensure better and fewer samples which ultimately allows you to shorten your time to market and the amount of expensive samples needed.

Hi! I'm Mikelle. I've spent over 20 years working in the fashion industry as a Designer as well as a CAD artist and Product Manager. I started training people in Illustrator for Fashion Design early on in my career and eventually began working at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology as an Adjunct Professor.

Karina Bajana, Footwear Designer

[Mikelle and I] met way back when I was working for Nine West as an Assistant Designer.  . . .  Mikelle has such a comprehensive understanding of these programs and is extremely good at explaining, coaching through the hands-on experience, and understanding/responding to questions. I highly recommend her if you’re looking into learning basic or advanced Adobe skills.

Doris Hofman, Designer

I highly recommend Mikellle: Great teaching skills, super experienced and up to date with the latest software novelties.

Nicole Markowitz, Designer

I first met Mikelle back in 2018 when I signed up for her “Illustrator Bootcamp for Fashion: Level 1” class. She was so friendly and engaging and made everybody feel comfortable in their skill level right away.. I took the Level 2 class about 6 months later and was equally as impressed. I can’t wait to take another class with Mikelle and 383 Design Studio!
